Kali Audio
Kali Audio started in Burbank, California in 2018, founded by engineers from the professional audio industry with a deliberately narrow idea: measure everything, publish the measurements, and let the numbers make the argument. In a category where most speakers are sold on adjectives, that was unusual enough to build a company on. Kali monitors routinely measure flatter than speakers costing several times more, which is why the LP series became the standard answer to what a first serious pair of studio monitors should be. Each product line takes its name from a California town. Lone Pine covers the LP entry monitors and the LP-UNF ultra nearfield pair. Independence is the IN series, 3-way coaxial designs where midrange and tweeter share an acoustic centre for point-source imaging that holds up off axis, which is why they turn up in Dolby Atmos rooms. Santa Monica is the flagship, the SM-5 and SM-8 with per-speaker DSP, parametric EQ, delay and network control, plus the passive SM-5-C for in-ceiling height channels. Watts covers the subwoofers, from the dual 6 inch WS-6.2 to the 12 inch WS-12.
